One of the most well-known authors who used realism in most all his writings is Mark Twain. Living close the Calaveras I thought it fitting to use him as my example. Mark Twain uses realism to show the flaws in society’s pre Civil War and how people treated on another. In one of Mark Twain’s most popular books “The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin” is an immensely realistic novel, how a child’s morals and actions clash with those of the society around him. Mark Twain used realism to show the ugly side and wrongdoings of society at the time and the hypocrisy of the people by illustrating harsh living conditions an almost factual description.
