Free Argumentative Essays: Why People Are Different Than Animals

Haven’t you realized how badly you want things and even after you get what you want you are still not satisfied. Then you just keep on wanting more and more. This is because most humans are materialistic and greedy which drives them to always want more and they believe they can never have enough. Although some people believe we are no different than animals the reality is I agree with Mark Twain that people are different than animals in this aspect and I believe it is a bad thing because we always want new things due to our materialistic thinking and also some people will never reach happiness and will be stressed out because they have limitless goals. No matter how successful you are if you are a materialistic thinker, you will always be hungry for more. Mark Twain explains how “...many men who have accumulated more millions of money than they can ever use have shown a rabid hunger for more...”. This shows how even the richest people will always want more and they will never be able to stop pursuing more money. It also shows how greedy and ignorant people can be because some people put this over things such as their health or even their family. Twain also describes how “...squirrels and bees and certain birds made acumulations, but stopped when they had gathered a winter supply…”.
