The Rancher

He did, and the sheriff ended up reporting it to Maj. Jesse Marcel, who was an intelligence officer stationed at the Roswell Army Airfield.

Walter Haut, public information officer of the Roswell Air Base, was ordered to write a article declaring that the wreckage north west of Roswell was indeed a vessel and not of United States origins.

-Maj. Marcel and General Roger Ramey reported years later that they left Ramey's office, which was holding most of the unarchived debris, to go check maps to pin point the exact area of the crash. When they returned they found that all the debris that was there had been replaced by similar looking, but clearly different objects. According to them, the debris was moved as a government cover-up.

-In 1990, the government supposedly declassified the Roswell case, declaring the incident a weather balloon experiment that caused the crash and debris.
Conclusion: You may be asking why it took over 45 years to say the crash was just a weather experiment? And why so many witnesses claim otherwise. Even if you don't believe the crash was of extra-terrestrial origins, you have to at least admit that the events that took place were very strange that it is also strange the government would keep so much of it a secret until years
