In the article, “The Work of Being Watched”, Mark Andrejevic presents the argument that by watching we are actually working for these companies. An example of this from the documentary includes the use of high tech computer programs that can translate “likes” into what the audience wants and which audience (consumer)

The more subscribers the you tubers have the more people a company can market their product. For example, the skateboarder teen who received free merchandise in exchange for him using it in his videos.
In my family both of my teen daughters are always watching these type of youtube videos. Exactly what the documentary discusses, is exactly what my teens do. In the end, my daughters are both fans of the videos and audience members to

Even though there are many positives to networking, it is easy to get caught up in everything social media has to offer. According to a study conducted by Marketing Charts, people between the ages of 18 and 34 spend almost 4 hours on social media every day! Some teens will use it in a positive way, others will use it in a terrible way where, they bully other kids or start rumors about innocent people. Without doubt when kids start drama on social media, it’s usually for something petty.…
