I find that it is morally and unethical to put down a healthy giraffe when other options weren’t even taken into account. If the individuals at the zoo actually cared about the well-being and what is best for Marius they would have searched for an answer to keep him alive and safe. Why not transport him to another zoo that was in need of a giraffe or even a giraffe sanctuary where he could spend the rest of his life. Could a bigger plot of land be made to designate to the giraffe population. I don’t think the zoo tried to look for alternative ways to keep Marius alive instead they killed him simply because it was the easiest way to get rid of the problem. There is one good thing that came out of euthanizing Marius; he was put out of his misery. I personally find zoo’s unethical and all together horrible for animal welfare. Even though I believe that Marius deserved to live rather than be killed but I also believe that Marius deserved to live a happy life. Lets face the facts animals that live in captivity are not as happy as animals in the wild. It’s not right and frankly
