Marita's Bargain: An Analysis

Many students are struggling with their academics, they arrive late to school which takes away from their study time. Furthermore, students have a hard time getting to school on time or even just waking up on time, this leads to them arriving at school late and them not getting the proper education they need and also they disturb the class that could lead the class in a pause while the teacher deals with that the student. As of matter of fact, in order to increase student success at Anaheim schools, the student must spend more time at school, my argument is that the student needs more time at school to have a chance. In any case, this tells us that the wealthier kids are doing something to keep their minds still active and are getting educated, but while they're still on their summer break. The wealthiest kids have the resources that many of other poor students don’t have, the wealthiest kids have the support they need and care to be able to have a jump start in their academics. As for the poor kids don't, their parents don’t have the proper education to help their children in school. Another example the author gives is that “ Cultures believe that the route to success lies in rising before dawn 360 days a year are scarcely going to give their children three straight months off in the summer. The school year in the United States is, on average, 180 days long. The South Korean school year is 220 days long. The Japanese school year is 243 days long”(9), this shows why our test scores are so different from other parts of the world. Students here have the longest break compared to other parts of the world.
