On a warm June day in 1855; Robert “Fighting Bob” Marion LaFollette was born. Wisconsin, the state of his birth, would also serve as the backdrop for his accomplished, if under-celebrated, political career. He went to school at University of Wisconsin-Madison, and shortly after was accepted at the bar shortly thereafter. He started his political career as Dane County’s District Attorney, and culminated with his loss in the 1924 Presidential election, and his death the next year. In betwixt, he held the offices of State Governor, Wisconsin U.S. Representative, and U.S. Senator.
