U.S. Marine socializes recruits through boot camp where Marines learn leadership and command process. They are socialized to acknowledge higher rank and the proper authority that helps in the military mission. During boot camp, they discover the purpose of a well-coordinated team, group loyalty, and interdependence. Socialization discourages individual effort, pride, and inculcates the values and the right attitudes to work with others in order to succeed and for survival in the mission. The training helps them understand the objectives of the Marine Corps.
