Marine Biology Personal Statement

When I enrolled at Northwest Missouri State University, I did so with the intention of becoming a marine biologist. I had a strong passion for the ocean and coral reefs, which I wanted to apply towards my future career. During the summer after my freshman year, I began a research project with Dr. Jay McGhee to determine if marine biology was right for me. After completing the research at the end of my sophomore year, I decided that I wanted to pursue a different degree. Despite this decision, however, marine biology remains one of my passions today.
I spent nearly my entire sophomore year researching potential majors and their applicable careers. Some majors that I considered were History and Nanoscale Physics, both of which I am still highly
