“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever,” an infamous marine biologist, Jacques-Yves Cousteau once said. He knew this spell well, enduring many dangerous marine trips in the waters surrounding his home country of France. The French-Marine explorer sailed around the world, learning about the organisms inhabiting it. This would not have been possible without his invention of scuba gear. Students study him in order to get a better understanding of marine biology.…

At the age of 18 he embarked on a five year voyage aboard the HMS Beagle. The ship was taking a survey voyage around the world to collect and study plants, wildlife, fossils and the local environments of numerous countries. While other kids would run home to catch the latest episode of Spongebob, I was rushing home to catch the latest episode of the nature documentary that was being showcased. My love of nature and animals led me to aspiring to be a marine biologist. My area of interest has shifted a bit, but is still in the realm of biology. I now dream of majoring in zoology, and becoming a zoologist.…

The career I have chosen for this project is a biologist. The role of a biologist can consist of multiple different studies, but primarily focuses on living things. Some biologists study things as small as the molecules that form organisms, how they work, and how they combine to create a working living thing. Others take a look at the ecosystems that contain living things. Biology can include experiments in a lab, or hands-on field studies.…

For most of my childhood, I basically had my heart set on becoming a veterinarian, along with many other things. Some of the other careers I considered include a surgeon, a physical therapist, an oncologist, and not at all related to those, a photographer. However, after looking into those careers, none of them appealed to me the way a forensic pathologist did. One reason I believe I should go into forensic pathology would be how I have always been interested in murders and other causes of death, especially how investigators and detectives determine how it happened. I have also always wanted to do something in the medical field.…
