The media definitely made anything related to Monroe a big deal mainly due to the fact that she was a woman. Men could also be very rude and abusive to Monroe due to what she stood for. She was viewed as an object and men easily took advantage of that. A lot of women had an opinion on Monroe and what she stood for. Some respected that she represented a figure that empowered women but others believed she made a mistake by reveling herself to the public like she did.
