One of the world 's most famous actresses of the 1900’s was Marilyn Monroe. She was known throughout the United States for being a famous American actress, singer, and model. Some of her famous nicknames she was known for were The Blonde Bombshell and MM. Marilyn was a famous symbol of beauty throughout the nation in her career of modeling.
Marilyn was born on June 1, 1926 at 9:30 AM in Los Angeles, California in Los Angeles General Hospital. Her original birth name was Norma Jeane Mortenson and her parents were Martin Edward Mortensen and Gladys Pearl Baker. Marilyn also had a half-sister with whom she was never got close to in her lifetime and had only met her about a half a dozen times. The movie was a disappointment to fans and critics. Marilyn started having problems with depression and her marriage to Arthur Miller, whom she ending up divorcing. After being committed to a hospital for several day, Joe diMaggio had her released. Marilyn continued to suffer from depression and overuse of drugs. Over the next two years, while she did not film movies, she performed at special events, including a performance at Madison Square Garden, where she sang Happy Birthday to President John F. Kennedy. Joe diMaggio and Marilyn had planned to remarry on August 8, 1962, but Marilyn passed away at 36 years old, on on August 4, just 4 days before the wedding. Marilyn’s death was unexpected and she was found naked in bed with no suicide note or signs of violence according to police investigations. There was an empty bottle of sleeping pills found next to her body and police ruled her death as an official drug overdose.
