Norma Jeane Mortensen, also known as Marilyn Monroe was born on June 1, 1926 in Los Angeles, California. In the beginning Marilyn had a rough start at life. She didn’t know her father, and her mother Glady Pearl Bakers developed psychiatric problems and was placed in an institution. Monroe spent a lot of her time in foster care and in an orphanage. In 1937, Doc and Grace Goddard took care of Monroe for only a few years. At seven years old Marilyn was placed back in a foster home where she had been sexually assaulted and at eleven years old she stated that she was raped. She released all these things by becoming an actress, model, and a singer. Within all of this, she became a beautiful women and a sex icon. Although Marilyn had a rough start to life, with not seeing her father, she remembers her mother trying to smother her, and going back and forth from foster homes, she really done a huge turn around. One of Marilyn’s biggest dreams was to become a house wife and she didn’t seem to get that out of any of the three marriages she was in. She was a decent, kind person who wanted to be loved but had the wrong taste in men too many that used and then abused her. I think that Marilyn was a great person although she overdosed on drugs. After doing this biography on her I really cannot see why someone like her would do drugs, and over dose. I understand she had a rough start to life, but she also had everything right in front of her, and she could have become more successful then what she already was. Although Marilyn looked like a really exciting person, I believe she was also really depressed with her whole life. The moral I received from this biography is even a wealthy person can be
