Imagine a day where diseases such as cancer could be cured. A day where we got the cure for cancer and many diseases. A day where cancer wouldn’t be a problem in today’s society. You are probably thinking what is this cure and why aren’t using this cure for our society right now. The reason is because this cure is a compound that contains an illegal drug. That illegal drug in the compound is marijuana. Because of the fact that marijuana is a illegal drug, we cannot use its compound form of it to cure cancer because it is not legal to use. However, if marijuana was legal we could use it to save many people’s lives. That is why marijuana should be legal. Marijuana should be legal for medical purposes.

Dave Fratello from www.thirteen.org in his article Should marijuana be legalized for medical purposes has stated that ‘Modern scientific studies, including six sponsored by U.S. states in the 1970s and 1980s, demonstrate that smoked marijuana reduces nausea and reduces pain for many patients, especially those facing cancer chemotherapy and glaucoma’. This means that not only this benefit affects cancer patients but it also can affect normal people without cancer or a disease who have just these problems such as, severe headaches and nausea. Also this means that instead of taking prescription medicines for people these symptoms, which can cause other health problems. They can just use prescribed medical marijuana as a safe and fast way to go along their day.
