Would you believe it if there existed a product that can help with anxiety and headache pain? What if this product was completely natural, and doesn’t contain any unknown ingredients found in typical pain relief medicines? And what if this natural medicine can also help people who suffer from diseases such as epilepsy and even cancer? Would you believe it? Believe it or not, this product does exist and is better known as cannabidiol or cannabis oil. Cannabis oil derives from the plant Cannabis sativa. This plant is responsible for containing 400 different chemicals. More than 60 of those chemicals are called cannabidoids, and two of those are known as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). The two chemicals are found in marijuana …show more content…
Also recent studies conducted by Epilepsy Action Australia shows of 587 participants, 15% were currently using cannabis-based products and 89.5% reported it as being a successful treatment option. The negative stigma and effects of marijuana is the main culprit responsible for stalling the legalization of the drug in all 50 states. Currently, twenty-six states have some form of laws regarding the legalization of marijuana. In fact, seven of the twenty-six have laws legalizing recreational use of marijuana. Yet, even though marijuana is illegal in most states, cannabis oil is legal when prescribed by a doctor. This is because cannabis oil does not contain THC or the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, which makes it illegal. However, this is where the main problem arises. Although cannabis oil is not marijuana, it comes from the same plant. Since cannabis oil is okay to have, the problem is the inability to attain the oil. The plant, from which the oil is pulled, is still illegal. To further explain, since marijuana is still illegal and cannabis oil isn’t legal in every state, the federal laws clash with the state laws. If a resident, where marijuana is illegal, wants to purchase cannabis oil, they must order the product out of state.
