There is a lot of work and research that still must be conducted before marijuana can be considered the next step in pain relief. It has shown promise in several studies. In research studies, it has been shown to act as a pain reliever and has even outclassed narcotics in multiple circumstances. Medicinal marijuana has been proven to provide a wide array of patients with not only pain relief, but also assistance with the longevity and overall efficacy of sleep as well as improvements in the quality of life in many patients lives. Again, work still must be done, however, health professionals need to make an assurance they will provide the highest quality care for their patients care.
