Marie Lu Champion Thesis Statement

Improved Essays
Book Review Essay We start with the title Champion. The author is Marie Lu. I believe that the thesis statement for this novel would be compassion. I think that this is a very agreeable thesis. We see many examples of compassion throughout the storyline. You can see that Day, one of the main character’s, shows compassion through his feelings for June, also one of the main character's. June shows compassion for some of the characters such as Eden, Day, and Anden. So yes i do believe that this is a reasonable theme. The plot was phenomenal, at the beginning we have this unique setup for the conflicting issues of romance between June and Day and then we delve into the world of Republic political issues. We go to Antarctica and get a whole new view of the world, the descriptions made for an amazing setting. Then finally we reach the climax, full-fledged war. It was intense, it was dramatic, it was heart-wrenching. Very loveable. …show more content…
First we have June. June is so strong, she makes such bold decisions based on more than just her emotions and puts everything forward to save the Republic. June is an amazing role-model and the perfect blend of badass and beautiful. Day was the prominent character of this book I think. He is in fact the “Champion.” Day was so amazing, every decision he made was based on his loved ones, he was so strong and brave. I especially loved when he stood up for the Republic and called them to action at the end. Then there are minor characters in comparison, we have Anden who was so strong, I admired him for staying himself even through all the hardships. There’s Tess and Eden, two great minor characters that greatly drove the story further. Then we have Thomas, the criminal that actually made me sympathize for him. And then there is Commander Jameson, I felt no sorrow for her at

Hi Lourdes, I really like your thesis statement It tells all your main points and what you want the rest of your essay to be about. I also like when u said “making the reader an important addition to the story.” It makes the reader wanting to read more to find out what you have to say. One thing I would change is the length of the thesis. If you can make it a little shorter but still have all your points there it would be better.…

Cyrus Trask didn't seem like a stable man after his time in war, but not like he had PTSD. Afterwards it seemed to me that he had changed from his old wild self to a permanent soldier even with his children. When Mr. Trask was talking about what he would have done to the prostitute that infected him, I instantly knew I wasn't going to like him. It wasn't like it was her fault that he chose to sleep with her, and she probably didn't know she contracted the disease. Mrs. Trask was kind of like Liza…
