The Marianist’s view of Mary’s faith is fundamental in its teachings. Mary’s faith was so strong it allowed her to conceive and give birth to Jesus. Just like Mary, the spirit of our faith is the root of all that we do for God.
Educate for formation in faith means being developed and to live as a responsible young man in my daily activities and do so with humility and grace. I will use my gifts to help others grow in faith and promote Christian attitudes with people daily.

The strength of Hagar shines to the forefront of Islam in Riffat Hassan’s piece “Islamic Hagar and Her Family.” In this piece, Hassan takes a feminist hermeneutic on the subject and puts the importance of females in Islam to question. She understands these women as important, but strives towards a more powerful basis in which an individual can truly understand the influence they can have. The Qur’an presents itself as a majority male dominated piece, in which either Sarah or Hagar never appear by name.…

Introduction As a mainly Protestant Campus it may be hard to grasp the Catholic Church’s position on Mary. As a Catholic I was taught that Mary’s Immaculate Conception is the Holiest miracle to occur; hence why we have crowded her as the Queen, and the Mother of God. About To begin to understand why Catholics hold Mary close to their hearts one must begin with the Immaculate Conception. Catholics give Mary the same worship and praise one would give the God almighty because we believe that she was exempt from all sin; that is why God chose to plant his seed in her.…

I have chosen to apply to the Georgetown University School of Medicine for many reasons but most importantly for its Catholic environment along with its focus on health disparities in underserved communities. My career goal is to become a primary care physician and practice medicine in a medically underserved area. My Catholic faith is central to my character and it guides my actions. The catholic principles of humility and charity to others reinforce my reasons for pursuing a career in medicine. I am particularly interested in the Population Health Scholar Tract at Georgetown because of its mission to incorporate public health to clinical practice to alleviate health disparities in the communities.…

When I was fifteen years old my dad took me on my first overseas mission trip to Nicaragua. We went to build houses and provide food for people living in the slums. More than that, we went to show these people God's deep love for them. When we got there, it quickly became clear that my job was going to be hanging out with the kids in the neighborhood. I had tried to help with the building project but had developed a constant swarm of children around me that kept bumping into the not quite stable walls.…

My passion to be a teacher in the Catholic school system has started a long time ago when I decided the teaching profession was for me. I was just coming out of my Catholic high school and I had made a decision to take a Bachelor of Health Science Degree, in physical education and biology with the end goal to become a high school teacher. It was during this time when I noticed myself asking for help a lot and depending on God’s plan to determine my success. " Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.…

Pastoral Formation Learning Goal-To learn the difference between Chaplain/Pastor’s response to different faith beliefs or disbeliefs than that of Protestant Christians. Addressed this Goal- Within the first goal I have learned that the Catholic patients use the Lord’s prayer for comfort. The difference here is that within my Protestant faith we recite the whole prayer without stopping and the Catholic community stops after “… deliver us from evil” then after another section goes on to, “Thine is the kingdom… and the glory forever. Amen.”…

The main reason why I think that HACC is the best choice for me is because of the cost. The rates per credit are around $250 and that is for in-state residents. The total cost for a commuter would be around $13,750 for a student who is full time, which means they are taking 12 credits per term (Stager). This price of $13,750 includes the price of books, supplies, food, and transportation and it is an average price for all HACC students (HACC.edu). I think that I could easily cut some of the cost by trying to buy my books online for a cheaper price or even eating at home to save a lot of money.…

Keeping my three personal and professional goals realistic, I would have to say a personal goal is to finish school at SNHU with a 3.0 GPA or above. I think a way for me to accomplish this goal is to stay focused on the tasks at hand, maintain a good relationship with my advisors and to utilize some of the tutoring options that are available to me as a student. Another personal goal is to work on myself, mentally. I cannot be a good mom or wife when I have the stress, anxiety and depression that I do. A way to help accomplish this goal is to not only start speaking with a psychiatrist (first appointment is August 4th) but to also have my thyroid checked.…

This tradition, not only fostered my grow in learning and in faith, it provided me with a sense of community and family spirit that supported and encouraged me to achieve my very best. This encouragement allowed me to grow as a leader.…

The mother of Jesus Christ, Mary, has influence on the people who read her stories. Throughout the ages she has been responsible for many different views, mannerisms, political movements, and deaths. Which is clearly odd because the Bible portrays her as such a passive woman. She has singlehandedly created the ‘rules’ for how a ‘proper’ woman should act physically, sexually, and even emotionally. Though it was only Mary’s actions as by the Church’s interpretations of the Bible that caused these standards, she cannot be held accountable, since these ‘Marian moral rules’ came into play long after she was dead.…

On August 26, 2005, I gave my life to Christ, and it was the start of a whole new chapter of my journey. I still remember that night vividly in my head. The feelings of excitement, joy, and love were very tangible in my heart. Even at 5 years old, I was aware of my decision to follow Jesus and accept him into my heart.…
