Fall 2013 (When) at Stocklmeir Elementary (Where) was bright and colorful, if not a little chilly, but the mood of Sammy (Who) and her fellow classmates was not. Despite the weather, which can put people in a good mood, Caroline had started rumors that caused Sammy’s friends to start leaving her (What). Soon enough, like all the leaves that fall, Sammy’s friends all left, leaving Mariam the only friend Sammy had. Mariam decided that she had to get them to talk it over. Caroline jealousy (Why) of Sammy’s popularity made it harder for Mariam to get them to have a seat together and talk it over (How). It all started in their final year of Elementary School (When). They were in fifth grade (when), in Ms. Kim’s (Where) class. It was …show more content…
She always wore dresses with high heels and refused to participate in any activities during P.E. because she was afraid to sweat. She had light brown eyes and auburn hair that matched the weather. Caroline was the opposite of Sammy. Sammy didn’t know what to do about this, so Mariam told her just to ignore it (How). What else could she say considering Sammy was already in a doleful mood as is. Mariam tried talking to the supposed “friends” that were so easily susceptible to those rumors. They just turned their back and left. The rumors kept on spreading and more of Sammy’s friends left. It broke Mariam’s heart to see Sammy take hit after hit so often that she had started to become a bit blase about it. Caroline had outdone herself this time. Mariam had to keep asking around, trying to find out why Caroline decided …show more content…

It will not. Sammy will still be a better person than you!” Mariam roared. Caroline’s demure broke and tears started streaming down her face. “I am sorry. I just wanted to be popular. Sammy got everything and… and.” she sobbed. “I was just jealous!” (Why) Mariam approached Caroline cautiously. “Well Caroline, do you want to clean up the mess you made?” she asked slowly, her hand outstretched (How). She nodded and Mariam led her over to Sammy. From there, Caroline confessed everything while Sammy sat there like a patient angel. After Caroline ended her rant, Sammy stood up and asked her, “Then how would you like to be best friends, Caroline?” Caroline looked up in awe at Sammy’s forgiving nature then threw herself against Sammy and into a hug. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” she mumbled against Sammy’s shoulder. The weather turned into a dark and cold winter, but the sun came back again with the warmth of Spring. The flowers bloomed, the sweet fragrance of forgiveness and new found
