The Origin of the Mariachi
Music from very remote times has been part of people's lives. Simple sounds that could create a rhythm can be considered music. For instance, in the region of Mexico, music existed before the colonization of the Spanish people. Throughout the years, different rhythms and instruments were created and adapted. Consequently, little by little distinct genres and groups of music were form and known. One of these is Mariachi, a genre of music that is very particular in Mexican land that at the beginning was known as Mestizos music. Mariachi was formed some decades ago, in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. This is a highlighted genre because of the clothing that the members of the group wear and by their characteristic instruments.
