Maria Moreno Monologue

The children startled and scared, both turned to look at Maria, but did not say a word.

Maria Moreno: It’s Ok you can tell me anything, no one will ever hurt you both again.

The children faced Maria and begin to move their lips, but no words or sounds came out, only a slight whisper.

Maria Moreno: Sweetie I can’t hear you. What’s that?

Maria leaned closer to the children, she wanted to hear what they were trying to say, but could still not make out what they were saying. When all of a sudden her cell phone rang, it was the Investigators Raul and Simon. The children were frighten and curled up in fear on the hospital bed.

Maria Moreno: I’m sorry sweetie that’s just my cell phone. See. It’s not going to hurt you. I need to step out for

Rodriguez: That’s absurd! Have you lost your mind? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds, I examine those children myself and those children didn’t seem dead to me.

Maria Moreno: Yes! Yes! I do know how ridiculous it sounds but its true, the investigators said, (she was interrupted by Dr. Rodriguez).

Dr. Rodriguez: Yes, those investigators and where are they now?

Just then the Investigators walked in holding a cardboard box full of old files.

Detective Ponce: Yes it’s true Dr. as absurd as it seems we don’t believe it ourselves, but here’s the proof.

De la Fuente pulled out one of the files that seemed to be about fifty years old and placed it on the table where Dr. Rodriguez and Mrs. Moreno can inspect it. He then proceeded to explain his findings.

Detective De la Fuente: The year was 1973, the house belonged to Tom and Sara Roberts, and they had two children, twins Billy and Lilly. Mr. Roberts had a mistress and wanted a divorce. Mrs. Roberts was devastated and wouldn’t give him the divorce. The children were only 7 years old and they became a burden to Mrs. Roberts and Mr. Roberts would not take them, they would only get in the way of his happiness.
