Maria Karatzias Research Paper

Born on April 25, 1962, Maria Karatzias was raised in Flushing, New York. As a high schooler, Maria was quite respectful, and she avoided doing anything that would disappoint her mother. Her mother had already been through a lot after Maria’s father had died when Maria was only 12. The last thing that Maria wanted to do was make life harder for her mother. Maria was quite an average student, with grades in the 80s. Before she knew it, Maria had graduated high school and started college.
Maria met her husband when she was in college. He was quite a ladies’ man, who was used to getting every girl that he wanted. One day, he set his eyes on Maria and decided to ask her out. He got rejected. He continued trying to get Maria to date him, even though he was rejected repeatedly. One day all his hard work finally paid off. Maria wanted to drive herself to a late night disco. However, she decided not to continue her education and became a stay at home wife. After having two kids and sending them off to school, she did not have much to do in her free time. Therefore, in order to have the same time frame as her children, she decided to become a staff member at Francis Lewis high school. She worked there for more than 12 years.
As Maria worked at Francis Lewis high school, she noticed several changes in the students throughout the years. They seemed to gradually lose respect for authority, lose respect for each other, lose etiquette, and lose aspiration for the future, living for the moment instead. Despite that, she was still able to develop special bonds with students at the Francis Lewis high school. Maria was able to become one of the people that created a comfortable and safe environment within Francis Lewis high school through her great sense of
