Margaret (Peggy) Shippen Arnold was the wife of the American traitor Benedict Arnold, these two leaked American military information to the British during the American Revolution. The Revolution that was supposed to set the colonies free from Great Britain's rule. Peggy was at first thought of as innocent in the treason but was later found that not only did she comply she even helped infiltrate the plan.

Margaret Shippen also known as Peggy grew up in wealth, with a father as a lawyer and two other ancestors who were mayors, along with her other four siblings three being female and one male. She had also lost two younger brothers in childhood making her the youngest. Through her younger years, she was an attractive, smart, and optimistic
