Among The Hidden By: Margaret Peterson Haddix is a suspenseful and enjoyable book. Luke is the third child of a family, who grows up on a farm, in a farming community. At one point before Luke was born, the town did not have enough food supply, so the government made a law that people could only have two children. Since Luke is the third child of the family, he has to stay hidden in his house. Luke lives up in the attic, just in case the population police ever come, they would not find an extra bedroom being used. Luke also wished he could be like his two older brothers, how hey went to school, and talked about their friends. Sometimes, he does not feel like he is part of his family.
