If I had just read to this point I would not yet think she is as critical as she actually turns out to be but I just find it suspicious that she is knocking these classic, very popular tales that Disney makes. The second thing that really jumps out at me is that one paragraph after she bashes the beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid is when she finally gets to her trip to the movies and she states that “even before the title sequence, however, I started to shudder.” At this point, I am just confused. This lady hasn’t even got to the movie and she already has her mind made up that it is stereotypical and prejudiced. I’m not sure why, but I think it is obvious that she is either extremely biased towards something or she just hates
