She showed how woman are more than capable in excelling in a creative world within their minds. In this case she shows this by taking over the church to convert everyone and create her own scientific society. She found their religion was offensive and was upset about it all. So because of that she decided to build churches and make a congregation of women, with her being the head of the church. The friendship between the Empress and the Duchess shows not only one female holding power but two and that they are both were very independent females that created their own kingdoms. They both admired each other’s world. The empress had gotten news that her homeland was being invaded and had to make decisions regarding her homeland invasions. She, being in control and a great leader as she was, decided to act as a peacemaker and organized an invasion to defeat the enemies, with the help of The Duchess.
