Marcus Jones is a 15 year-old African American high school student who is showing all signs of addictive behavior to online gaming. His grandmother has brought him here in hopes to seek help in ending his addiction to online gaming, so Marcus can lead a normal life with social interaction with other individuals his age. After speaking with Marcus during a routine session to evaluate his addictive behavior, I have come to the conclusion that Marcus is addicted to online gaming, and if treatment is not provided can lead to more serious complications health wise. He seemed very irritable, fatigued, de-hydrated, and it was obvious this child rarely sleeps. Marcus and I will discuss further in detail how his addictive behavior started, and why he …show more content…
It is in the best interest for Marcus and his family to all be treated through the family system model. Marcus is very vulnerable to problems with an addiction for several reasons. First, his father has addictive behaviors, and then the entire family shows serious signs of imbalance. This is a dysfunctional family because there are no rules, or values being set forth upon these children. The mother encourages her oldest child to isolate himself from the world, so he can be financial set in the future. There is also a serious lack of communication within this family as well as a strong lack of interaction among the mother and her children. Even though she believes she’s doing the right thing by working hard to provide for her family, she is falling to see that her family is falling apart, and certain behaviors are more vulnerable to her children then she is aware of. Marcus’s mother and grandmother through treatment will learn about addictive behaviors, and how to handle these behaviors through setting boundaries and following through with those boundaries. They will also learn how to better communicate with each other, and interact in a healthy way. Hopefully we’ll be able to help this family to set values, and teach social interaction skills to Marcus and his younger siblings. The treatment will also involve family group therapy, as well as individual therapy because each family member seems to be heading in completely different directions. They have to be a family that has a foundation based on working together, not against each other. Social skills will be another part of therapy because this family lacks complete communication and social skills needed to lay boundaries, and rules

Introduction The US justice systems can be described through a critical analysis of a case law. The legal researcher is supposed to understand the police procedures applied in the case investigation and arrest, the court proceedings and the punitive measures applied. The model of thought that the jury applies, the defence that the defendant uses, and the process the plaintiff presents facts and evidence are given keen consideration (Reichel, 2002).This paper uses US Supreme Court case (US v JONES, 2012) where a suspected drug trafficker was found guilty and punished to a life sentence in a bid of understanding the US justice systems. Col Henderson is a single father and he and Marcus recently moved to Ohio from Maryland. The environment was overwhelming for Marcus. His new life was a complete change of pace; his parents recently divorced after 21 years of marriage and his father won custody; he was having a difficult time making friends and was often being bullied as the “new kid”; and he was attending Oakwood High School, a nationally ranked school that was more academically challenging than his previous high school. Marcus’ behavior during the month began to reflect the change.…

Andre Jones is someone that I’ve helped on a continue basis, with his recruiting processes, professionalism, and his overall time management. Since the onset of his employment here at Aerotek I have assisted him on a professional level, giving him advice around our implicit office culture. For example I give him advice around some of the less obvious office intricies such as being clean shaven every day and being attentive at red zone, even when the discussion is less relevant to him. Most recently Ander has struggled with his recruiting numbers, and to help him improve this we sat down, for about a half hour, and created a generic schedule he can follow to help become more productive. This schedule, we created, is nothing more than a ‘block’…

Assessment Today some families in America deal with many problems, one of the main stresses that many families have a hard time coping with is when a family member is abusing drugs. Usually, some family members use drugs as a last resort from an issue, they also use it to forget about a certain event that may haunt them, or it could be from a certain stressor within the family itself. In this case study, Jess is a 17-year-old teenage boy, who used to be an A student in school, has started using and abusing drugs/alcohol at the age of 10. As a result, Jess’s grades in school were dropping, he started arguments/fights with his parents, and he recently started to withdraw within himself. For this specific case study, I would use the Family Assessment and Intervention model because many families have almost like…

When Mr Jones was first admitted, there were several concerning cues that made him an at risk patient. Even before observations were taken Mr Jones’s age, weight and intense chest pain clearly indicated his need for immediate action to evaluation his condition because of the risk of heart complications. After observations Mr Jones had a total Q-ADDS score of 3 and a pain score of 7/10, most concerning was his O2 saturation at 92% and his severe crushing pain in his chest which had been going on for an hour and a half and had only been slightly relieved by 2 doses of GTN. There is evidence that abnormalities in the physical objective (BP, O2 sat) and subjective (pain score) observations are indicators of possible critical events (Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, 2009).…
