Although failure can be upsetting or even discouraging, it can be used as a wonderful learning experience. Failure at some point is inevitable, but it you have to make the most of it. I have been fortunate enough to be the drum major for my school’s marching band both my junior and senior year. We have yet to start competitions this year, but last year was not ideal for me as a leader or the band as a whole. We start rehearsals for our competition show at the end of June; this is usually about two weeks after the school year has ended. We have three, two and a half hour rehearsals per week over the summer. In addition to this, we have two required camps. They are twelve hours, five days during the week, and the weeks are back to back. Needless
