I think the purpose of March: Book One and March: Book Two is to raise awareness of what happened back in that time. I was not alive in the 1960s, but I think the book is to show people who were later born that this was a huge problem back then. Not only are these books great insight to what happened in the 1960s through a man who lived it, but also they are different than just reading a book with words. March was the first comic book I read and at first I was afraid I was not going to like the way comic books were formatted, but after I completed the first book I absolutely loved the comic book form! The pictures in comic books really do bring the message to life and comic books attract more of the younger generation and I think that may have been why John Lewis chose to write this in a comic book
