There are four producers that conducted and created the documentary Maquilopolis. The names of these producers are Vicky Funari, Sophia Constantinou, Alex Armenta, and Sergio De La Torre. These four individuals are a mix of American and Mexican producers. They released this documentary in January 2006 and filmed most of the time in Tijuana and Baja California. The focus of the film was on the U.S.-Mexican border factories and the lives of the women working there. These four producers made the film with the collaboration of its subjects. Funari and De La Torre established workshops for the women who needed to learn how to use video equipment to tell their own stories. This documentary is solely based around the lives of these women who work
