Life has ups and downs and everyone has to go through it in some shape or form. In order to get through those tough situations in life you must have the correct attitude for that situation. You should be adaptable and be hopeful, people have survived many horrendous things because of their attitude. Viktor E. Frankl was a victim of the Holocaust, but he survived thanks to luck and his attitude. The main theme of his popular memoir Man’s Search for Meaning is that you have the freedom to control your attitude to any given situation, and if you choose the right attitude it can lead you to a more successful life. In order to become a strong person like this you must have the right attitude, for everyone has the potential to be strong since according to Viktor Frankl everyone has the choice to control their attitude. For having the right attitude can help you lead a more successful life. But what is a successful life? To others that can mean, having a lot of money, woman, men, or power. To me a successful life is pursuing my passion, having financial stability, and the ability to sustain my family. Sure having a lot of money and a nice paying job is great, and can help me gain a successful life. But family, friends, love, and the beauty of life are the things that I live for. Viktor Frankl's outlook on success is that you cannot aim for success, you have to let it happen. By pursuing what you love and doing something greater than yourself only then will you find success. In his memoir Man’s Search For Meaning he writes: “Don't aim at success. The more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are going to miss it. For success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue, and it only does so as the unintended side effect of one's personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself or as the by-product of one's surrender to a person other than
