Manning's Case Study

I know that Manning's defense to this case is that, she wanted to "make a difference." However, what one needs to consider is that by publically leaking classified information is that the enemy too will also be able to access said information. While she was charged with 22 offences she was found guilty of all but two, making that 20 charges. Because proven guilty, she was sentenced to 35 years in prison. Since the incident she has seen a drastic reduction of her original sentence, allowing her to be freed in May of 2017.
