Many hands-on activities for children involve direct interaction with physical elements. They manipulate balls, building blocks, and parts that they assemble in a variety of ways. These are known as manipulatives. Manipulatives are small objects that children can easily handle with their small hands. Parts bins or containers in the activity area help, as will hidden storage for easy restocking.
