As tensions grew between the relationships of neighboring farms tension also grew within Animal Farm, “ When they had finished their confession, the dogs promptly tore their throats out, and in a terrible voice Napoleon demanded whether the animals had anything to confess” (Orwell 75). In this scene a number of animals had confessed to seeing the abolished Snowball in their dreams or revenge plans and Napoleon's paranoia demanded that they be punished by death. The animals had once again seen the wrath of Napoleon and the burdens endured, but once again the animals were deceived by trust manipulation and fear. Although fear was the most brutal tactic it was the most effective tactic used by Napoleon in order to input the idea of authority in rest of the animals
