I personally felt happy that the clones escaped from that branch to live in the real world instead of being deceived by the evil mind of Dr Merrick. I think this could influence the teenagers to find out the truths and believe in what they think is right!
The Final film technique that the director uses to get his thoughts of Dr Merrick is by using dialogue. At the start of this film a voice-over says “you’re special you have a special purpose in life, you have been chosen, The Island awaits you”. This is later revealed to be a brainwashed into the clones before they are operational by Dr Merrick. This shows the idea of feeling special and how this can be used to manipulate a community into following a hidden agenda filled with promises of something better.
The director wants the audience to think about manipulation and how it can make a person dance on another’s string and help them achieve their goal and use them for their own beneficial use. This makes me understand more about Dr Merrick and how he is trying to manipulate lives of the innocent for his own personal gains.
