Creeping figures slithered out underneath the speckled night sky, not a single fragment outshining the moon at its fullest. Luminescence of the orb created a safe, guiding light for the wandering, yet it exposed them to the other creatures looming in the crevices of the forest. Two small, thin bodies weaved through the trees that surrounded them no matter where they turned. As the rustling of leaves sounded from a distance, tall forms towered over everything under their desolation. Trying to stay hidden in the shadows of the great oaks, the beings traveled in precaution.…

For the student manifesto essay, I will be tackling multiple contemporary societal problems. I will give a brief history of how and why the problems have arisen, explain why the problems are critical, and give possible solutions, both short and long term. Some of the problems I plan on discussing are systematic and individual racism, the institution of policing, poverty, complexities of feminism, health inequity, ableism, prison abuse, and global inequality. All the problems I will talk about will be analyzed through lenses critiquing how capitalism, racism, and classism uphold the systems of injustice enacted by the State.…

Act 1 — You know, real loss only occurs when you love something more than you love yourself. But, that didn't stop me from feeling lost and aching for you even when you were yelling at me, yelling directly into my soul. You knew how vulnerable I was. We were both so young, there was no way this really happened. I naively thought that we were invincible, I foolishly felt that this couldn't have been real — something like this wouldn’t happen to US.…
