In the reflection of attending Miss Columbia’s school house has a theme of Manifest Destiny. As you can see the famous manifest destiny photo of lady liberty and miss Columbia has the interpretation, where the women in the middle is like a guardian. As you can see in the bottom right hand corner, there is what seem to be a white male and an Asian native. This is stated in the Aguinaldo’s criticism; Aguinaldo says that Americans do not believe people who have been conquered deserved American citizenship. President Reagan knows that no type of government is ever going to be perfect for man. Reagan persisted we shouldn’t discriminate towards each other by religion or our backgrounds. Even though there are skeletons in the closet, it doesn’t mean that we aren’t a great nation. Reagan also expressed how the morality of the United States is on the slow decline. In Obama’s speech, A more Perfect Union, the message he is trying to get across is you get success within yourself. Gender, Race, or religious background should not be a factor on how successful you are in America. It is like history repeating itself. Even though slavery was abolished, racism wasn’t and still carries on til this day.
