Have you ever heard of the Manhattan Project? Well, the Manhattan Project was a project during World War 2, to build a nuclear weapon. President Truman briefly discussed the idea with Joseph Stalin. There were advantages and disadvantages to the way Truman broke the news to Stalin. In the Secretary of State James Byrnes' versions, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill's version, and President Truman's version, they noted that that Stalin lacked emotion once President Truman mentioned it to him. In the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill version, it said. "His faced remained gay and genial." This could mean many things.     During the time period of decision making, President Truman of the United States, along with Winston Churchill of Great Britain and Josef Stalin of the Soviet Union, gathered at the Potsdam Conference in Germany to discuss whether or not the bombs should be dropped.
