Each volume can extend over a hundred pages. However, manga is very different from comics here in America so do not try to connect the two together. First off, manga is translated from Japanese to the language of the country it is produced in. Also manga is made to read right to left. This is very different from how people in the Western Civilization read, which is left to right. The panels, in which the story is told, are various shapes and sizes thus giving more room for the authors to enhance specific moments in the storyline (Poitras 49).
