Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez is an undocumented immigrant who has been deported from the United States five times. In the summer of 2016 Mr. Sanchez shot and killed thirty-two year old Kathryn Steinle who was walking on Pier 14 in San Francisco with her father. In early September her parents filed a claim against the city of San Francisco and its federal officials. Months before in March, San Francisco sheriff Ross Mirkarmi informed jail staff that they would no longer disclose information about illegal immigrants to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. Lyddie’s actions toward the trespassing bear revealed that she was independent, strong, and smart. Her position in the family is basically the mother because she takes care of the kids and her mother since she is not very mentally stable. Is the U.S.A justified in sending Japanese residents to Manzanar and other camps like it? Yes, the U.S. was at war with Japan and they had to take precautions because they were worried that the Japanese would interfere with the war. The treatment the Japanese had at the camps is not justified though, they lived in humiliation and poor living conditions. Also it was wrong for the U.S. to hold the loyal Japanese citizens against their will. Of course the U.S. would be justified to hold Japanese residents in concentration camps.…

While reading Enrique’s Journey, the most prevalent concern that Enrique faced was the difficulty immigrating to the U.S-Mexico border. Towards the end, Enrique encountered the Rio Grande which separates the U.S. from Mexico and even then he was not allowed to pass. How can a land of immigrants later decide to deny the right to immigrate to the U.S.? The laws concerning the right to immigrate should be geared more towards protecting that right rather than infringing on it. While it is true that outsiders have tried to attack the U.S., that doesn’t mean we should deny people the opportunity to build a life for themselves and their families in America.…

The impression we have on Rob Millard-Mendez is that he Cares about environmental issues like global warming, pollution and climate change. We feel that Millard-Mendez is a straightforward person very serious and adventurous for the way he created the sculpture with reclaimed objects-- a person who can read between the lines. We always feel that Millard-Mendez is very clever for the way he created his art pieces. For example, Millard-Mendez created different types of boats but each boats had their own story behind the way they were created. We feel that every art piece that Rob Millard-Mendez created had either and story or an important message behind it.…
MSTT met with Leslie and Lemuel to examine their desired outcomes and if are satified. Leslie stated she is happy because Lemuel is engaging in a program that is going to better is life. Leslie stated school was not really for him and she is glad he's in the GED program. Lemuel agreed and stated school was not for him and that is why he would have been repeating the 9th grade for the fourth time. Leslie expressed since Lemuel have been in the program things have been getting better and informed MSTT Lemuel was able to find a job as well.…
