A multitudinous number of women are affected by gender inequality- physically, mentally, and emotionally. In the United States Military, gender equality takes part. Men and women are treated equal and share the same rights in combat. Having a mandatory military draft would teach and promote gender equality throughout the United States. It was not until after World War II that women took part in combat. Before 1945, women had to disguise themselves as men or become nurses to take part in the military. Following WWII, the Women’s Services Integration Act was passed in 1948. This gave women a permanent spot in combat and in service. Large amounts of women joined the military after the seventies. Allowing a significant number of years to pass, the Gulf War had arose. Being the largest female deployment, over 40,000 women served throughout the five branches of armed forces. Shortly after the war, all bans against women were lifted and 92 percent of career fields were opened up to women. Standards after the war were set equal to men and women. Physically, women were set to the same standards as men, up until a law had been passed in January of 2013. Gender equality had then struck the United States Military.
