Mandatory Drug Testing In Schools

Should school drug tests be mandatory for all students? Having mandatory drug test isn’t catching offenders, but to prevent the use of drugs in schools. The importance of having a mandatory drug test is so that everyone is following the law. I personally think that schools should have a mandatory drug test because it is important to have a drug free environment. Not only our athletes or anybody that is involved in any extracurricular activity should take a random drug test, but the whole school should take one because there are students that are in band and choir that do not take drug test.
Students that do not do drugs have nothing to worry about. Mandatory drug test gives students a reason to say “no” to drugs. Are they accurate? Test are 100% accurate. If the test says positive on a at home drug test which the schools should use, you should still send it to the laboratory to make sure. Any medication or any over the counter should be notified to the school board because this could affect the test. Other things that can affect the test are the way you did the test, the way you stored your urine, and what you ate or drank before the test. Be careful if the test suggest that the test may be positive. Then you should send it to the laboratory for second results.

The use of drugs are shown to be used more in students that don’t have drug testing than in students that are in extracurricular activities.
