Mandatory Background Checks

In today society, I would absolutely say yes to mandatory background checks. We are living in a violent world now and its best to keep people safe in their workplace and at home. As I read my weekly assignment week 2 homework has really opened my eyes to the bigger picture of background checks for companies. In majority of some cases, the background check plays a major part of violents in the workplace. This will give the employer some history of the employee background. But on the other hand it can destroy a person chances of better opportunity in the workplace. I have a friend that has a bad background. This problem has haunted him for the last 6 to 7 years. With his background he haven’t been able to land a good paying job beside working in the restuartes business. And it seem like that would be his only way of income working there. I have seen his struggle with money and being able to take care of his children. Yes I do agree on background checks but it can also hurt the good ones …show more content…
This is a secure step for the company best interest. We are not always sure on decision making and you can’t always judge a book by its cover. Some people in the world are out to no good. And who would want other people with no good intension to work around good hard working people who just trying to survive and take care of their family. In this corporate world background checks has always raise an eyebrow because there are a lot of things people want to hide from others. And it’s not fair to the people and to the companies that are planning on hiring. I have seen a lot cases on national TV where as people getting mad at their companies for some type of reason acting out in violence. And this is where a lot of lawsuits come from.     Every business is required by law to have some form of security policy in place that will protect their customer’s information. How robust these policies are, may, and do, differ from company to company and can depend on many different factors unique to each individual business. Information security is very important and at my widget company it would be my responsibility and ethical duty to do everything in my power to find out how my system was breached and exactly what customers information was compromised as well as who is responsible for taking this information.
