There are different ways to understand and see someone as they are as a person. Mandala’s are one of the ways I could present who I was before, now, and my aspirations for the future. There are four topics or categories that have a meaning in my life. The four topics are family traditions, sports, hobbies, and faith. There are two symbols that represent each category. The symbols for family tradition are New Year’s Eve and Christmas house; for beliefs, there are the church and the holy bible; for sports, it has a basketball and a racket; for hobbies, there is a computer set and a gaming controller. There are four more symbols that show what I want to be and want to do in the future. These four symbols include a diploma, buildings, family, …show more content…
There are five symbols that are fundamentally important to whom I am. The first symbol would be my parents. They are fundamentally important to me right now because, without them, I would not be in this world. They comforted me and taught me the ways on how to be a proper human being. I learned how to walk, talk, having the right mindset, shaped up my morals, and understanding how the world works. They have told me what would happen during everyone’s life, which is having kids, learning, being an adult, and dying because of old age or sickness. Without my parents, I don’t know what kind of situation I would be in. I would probably be a lost cause without them. The other image I have chosen that I fundamentally important to me is the cross. This is because religion and faith have shown me what I should follow, which are the Christian morals and the five commandments. Ever since I was born, these were ingrained in my head. Even though, I am not the ideal perfect Christian because of my sins. But, I do believe in one God; I believe in the bible; I pray every day, night, happiness, sadness, and through difficulties; and I believe in the Ten Commandments. The another symbol that I have chosen is an image of laughter. If there is no religion I do not think I could live in one. This is because I always laugh at everything. I believe that laughter and happiness are the cure for sadness. I always try to make everyone laugh and happy, with my funny faces, jokes, and remarks. Even though that sometimes make fun of myself, I still feel happiness going through me because I know that I made them happy and smiling. Without laughter, I believe I would be sad and emotionless. There is another image in the middle of my mandala that is fundamentally important to me. This is a trophy. For me, this trophy shows my competitive drive towards winning, improving and playing the sports I

Every little detail present in this work mirrors a great deal and a more meaningful interpretations in order for me to communicate the right message and feeling to the viewers. The coat of arms is encompassed a perfect circle as a symbol of something that is whole, complete, ideal and eternal. With a shape that has no ending and no beginning, the message is somehow parallel to cyclical ideas and processes. The yin-yang symbol represents the two different phases in my life: my life in Iran and life in Canada.…

Throughout humanity’s history, our religions have given us a world view that, among other beneficial and harmful effects, has placated our horror to the reality that is life as we know it. Most religions have told us that if we worship a deity, behave in a certain way, and practice certain traditions that we will be selected to go to a place that is beyond the suffering of the world. Those who embrace religion in this way may be said to be softening the brutality of life by putting their hopes into an unperceived and intangible future - something promised but not yet proven. This is where Buddhism differs from the religions of the world, so much so that it becomes difficult to even term it a religion. Buddhism is meant to paint a truthful picture…
