The manager’s hot seat case was about employee communication, and the use of technology in the workplace. The manager of a department, Lynn, and the HR Director Janet, are employees of the company Bank Street Business who are conducting an emergency meeting. The meeting is about Lynn’s employee, William Cushing, who was placed on administrative leave for abusing the company’s telephone and internet use policies while Lynn was on vacation. Lynn believes that William should not have been punished, at least without her being informed, while Janet believes she made the correct decision in not informing Lynn.
