b) Provide the name of person, their position, and how you found him/her. Give an overview of Information gathered about the company/organization/individual before the interview. The person I interviewed was Linda M. Sweeney, a Cal-Pro-Net Coordinator, who recently came back from her out of state conference. I found Ms. Sweeney thanks to my professor Amna Jaffer who help me get in contact with her. Ms. Sweeney explained what Cal-Pro-Net is in great detail. Cal-Pro-Net stands for California Professional Nutrition Education and Training, and this center is here at San Jose State University funded by a grant by the California Department of Education. She coordinate trainings for food service directors throughout the whole state.

Sweeney stated that she got into this field because she liked food. She studied to be a Dietician at California State University, Los Angeles. In order, to be a dietician you need a four years degree and an internship. In Los Angeles, they had a program where they combined four years of college with internship. Then you have to take an national exam to be a registered dietician. This field requires the students to take a lot of chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, and microbiology courses. The general education and other courses required for this major are required to be able to understand how our body utilize food. Dieticians can work just anywhere with food, so some Dieticians work at a clinics, hospital, food service operations like managing a kitchen, and planning school menus. There are two different sides of Dieticians. The training to be a Dietician is set by the association. Furthermore, the association oversees the educational programs to train Dietician and they review every five years to see everything is done correctly. The salary range from 35,000 to 150,000 depending on what you do. The personal qualities you need for this field depends on what Dietist you want to be. If you work with schools than you need to be a good negotiator and have some kind of business background. For counseling and private practices, you need good listening and communication skills. In public health services, it is highly recommended that you need to speak and understand
