Being a positive thinker will be very useful in the workplace, and in my life, as a whole. Doing research on this topic brought me to the conclusion that positive thinking will create value in my life and help build skills. A benefit from positive thinking can provide a heightened ability to build skills and develop resources for use later in life. Positive thinking impacts work, health, and my life. Barbara Fredrickson is a positive psychology researcher at the University of North Carolina and she published a landmark paper that provided surprising insights about positive thinking and it’s impact on skills. Her work is among the most referenced and cited in her field. The last area I need improvement on, taken from the assessment, is organizational and political skills. Time management is a big step to organizational skill. I currently plan, in advance, for work and school. When I plan my day the night before, I then feel confident that I can walk out the door in the morning and not stress. One task I need to start incorporating in my life style is to prepare a daily task list and make sure I follow it. Scheduling my time almost eliminates stress. Organizational skills I do have, it’s the political skills I’m poor at. I can become more productive when I can mentally schedule my day around the
