I have been able to witness him do both speaking and managing at the ranch venue. The one event that stands out in my mind was during 2011. The Owners and General Managers for the Texas Rangers decided that they would celebrate their team’s successful season and birth to the World Series by having a World Series party at the ranch my uncle manages. Playoff time for baseball can be very hectic. A club doesn’t completely know the will be in World Series until they are unquestionably going to be in it. When the Texas Rangers found out that they were in, the management of the organization didn’t have much time to amass all the resources for this party. There is a direct correlation between effective managers and receiving help from coworkers. “Of those who deemed themselves effective time managers, 85 percent reported that they receive strong support in scheduling and allocating time. Only 7 percent of ineffective time allocators said the same” (Bevis & Smet, 2013,pg4). I believe my manger is evidence of being excellent at time allocation.
