Lord of the Flies by William Golding is a fiction story about a group of young boys on a stranded island, trying to supervise themselves without any adult supervision. This novel consists of conflicts between man and barbarism. This is represented with the two main characters Ralph and Jack. Different themes could take a part in this novel, but the one that stands out would have to be the Man vs. Civilization/Savagery. Without any type of adult figure while on the island, these conflicts between the boys will only get worse.
Civilized behavior takes a big part in this book. Many of the conflicts that take a part in the book are because the boys aren’t being civilized to one another. Bullying Piggy is one of the big conflicts that they go through.
