I have chosen “Mamma Mia”, a fictional story inspired by the music of the Swedish pop group, ABBA. The title of the musical is one of the group’s songs, and it sung throughout the show. When both relationships failed, the group’s …show more content…

For this interview, I decided to interview my mom Lucia because I feel that out of all my family members she's the one that has gone through the most. My mom came to the U.S for her kids to have a better lifestyle and better education. At the end of the day, she accomplished what she wanted because both my siblings and I have had a great education. However, she also had to give up a lot, for example, leaving her family members behind and having to start a new life in a place where she doesn’t know anybody. Another reason she came to the U.S was because of the money.…

I went to the Minskoff Theatre in New York City expecting to be very bored. I had never been to a Broadway play, and The Lion King probably wouldn’t have been my first pick if left up to me, but my wife had wanted to see it since she was a little girl. When I went to get concessions before the play started, the concession worker asked me if I was excited about the show and when I didn’t seem too enthused she mentioned that the show had been going on for 14 years, so it must be good to keep running for that amount of time. She was right and I think the play version of The Lion King was far more enjoyable than the movie version.…

The creation of musicals into movies may not accurately depict the story of the musical and important details may be lost. Movie directors often prefer popular and well-known actors over those who bear the proper talent for a given role. In a movie version of a musical, you often miss the small subtleties that vary between performances, be it a dropped line, an interesting recovery, or a prop malfunction. You also tend to miss the small modifications brought on stage by the director. In addition, there is a loss of catharsis between the actors and the audience in a movie musical.…

Starting from the actors, scenes, the exaggeration of moves, loud singing and the facial expressions of the actors, caught my interests and curiosity. The actors’ role fits them. I was surprised to hear Richard Gere sing and dance, way more different from what I conceptualize him in his roles in romantic movies. Queen Latifah acting is believable, she is so natural, and she portrays her role beautifully. Chicago the Musical is music, dance, Love, deception, greed, frustration, anger, and murder are put into one excellent musical play.…

While speaking to Eva Longoria it became quite that Eva is quite different than the role she plays in Desperate Housewives, as Gabrielle Solis. Eva has graced many cover photos such as Vogue, Marie Claire and Harper’s Bazaar, she is much more than just a beautiful women as people see her. What impressed me the most about her is that she is smart, down to earth, and outspoken. Social and political issues are her main concern which include immigration reform, labour laws for farm workers and the roles available for Latinos/Latinas in Hollywood. Eva has been getting her Master’s Degree in Chicano Studies and Political Science.…
